Severe Disability Assessment (SDA) 

The purpose of a severe disability assessment is to ascertain suitability of a person’s medical/ mental condition to qualify for a care subsidies or withdrawals under the following severe disability schemes

  • Interim Disability Assistance Programme for the Elderly (IDAPE) 

  • ElderFund 

  • ElderShield 

  • CareShield Life 

  • MediSave Care 

  • Supplements by private insurers

To be eligible for these subsidies or payouts, a person must be assessed as severely disabled in at least three out of the six Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
